The Quant Developer Consultant will help on enhancing the existing risk report infrastructure, which includes both front end UI and backend distributed systems platform. He/She will also work on general codebase clean-up, refactoring, performance improvement, etc.

This position will also entail significant interaction with the Clearing Risk Management for ad-hoc requirements. As such, this role would require the ability to multi-task and operate under aggressive deadlines.

 

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Enhance existing risk report infrastructure.
  • General Typescript and C# codebase clean-up and refactoring.

Position Requirements:

  • Education & Experience: Master’s degree.
  • Field of Degree: Computer Science/Engineering or related field.

Required Skills:

  • Strong with OO concepts.
  • Strong .Net/C# or Java development experience.
  • Strong Knowledge and experience of UI development. Experience with Typescript is preferred.
  • Strong Knowledge about distributed systems/cloud platform, such as AWS, ASF. ASF is preferred.
  • Knowledge of design patterns and their implementation.
  • Knowledge of relational database programming, and experience with SQL Server or Oracle.
  • Knowledge of financial modeling.
  • Strong ability to learn existing application quickly.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Provide reliable and quality support around the clock in a production environment
    • Respond to events from the monitoring tools, with the goal of restoration of service
    • Review and diagnose problems through analysis of system and application logs
    • Perform deployments for new servers and replacement of failed components
    • Conduct system health checks routinely and following deployments and upgrades
    • Carry out deployments for new servers and replacement of failed components

    • Analyze application logs to determine root cause of problems
    • Analyze and correct equipment malfunctions and perform replacement of faulty components and subsystems

    • Guide field staff with deployment and replacement of servers and server components remotely
    • Participate in meetings with other groups (Engineering, Development, and QA) to plan and document deployment approaches and operational requirements

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • The equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field or equivalent real world experience
    • 5+ years of Linux experience
    • 4+ years experience in hardware and software support, configuration and installation of Servers, Server Hardware, Operating system installation, and network TCP/IP experience
    • 2+ years’ experience working on trading system environments
    • In depth knowledge of RHEL 5, RHEL 6 and RHEL 6. including clustering. Certifications preferred
    • Knowledge and experience with installation, configuration of PCs, small servers (x3550, x3650, x3950, Proliant)
    • An understanding of Network routers and switches desirable
    • Strong understanding of DNS preferred
    • Familiarity with ESX VMware virtualization is a plus
    • Experience with MS Windows Server desirable
    • Experience with an Enterprise Password Management solution preferred
    • An understanding of Cisco Network devices and trading system applications within a Datacenter environment

 

Client Integration Services Consultant

The successful applicant will be responsible for working with existing EBS clients to upgrade their existing network connectivity solutions and migrate over existing services to the upgraded network. The role should will require the running of multiple client projects in parallel; the ability to provide strong governance to management and other stakeholders; and have very good networking knowledge in order to represent when advising clients on our networking standards.

Key Accountabilities:

    • Manage the client upgrade projects through to completion working closely with the regional Client Integration Managers, Global Networking Team and Sales to ensure the client is fully migrated and previous hardware removed from site.
    • Provide strong governance to the Key Stakeholders including the Head of CIS and Executive Management .
    • Chase down any slow adopters and escalate to Sales when necessary.
    • Understand EBS Networking standards for client site connectivity into our Core Network located in NY2 and NY5; and ensure clients adhere to these standards.
    • Handover the upgraded client to the Regional Client Integration Managers based in New York.
    • Document any signed off non-standard solutions and ensure this documentation is shared for ongoing support.
    • To fulfil any additional / ad hoc duties as required to complete this project.

    • An appreciation of network routing and hardware
    • Working knowledge using 3rd party applications is preferable – eg Service Now; Salesforce; SmartSheet; Confluence; Visio; etc
