Location: Detroit, MI

Duration: 12 months

This role manages Facilities improvement projects of intermediate to moderate complexity. This role will serve as key contact for the client, vendors, consultants, contractors and trades throughout the lifecycle of the project. This role utilizes CAD technology to create design and construction documents as appropriate. This role would adhere to Facilities Department policies and guidelines; and Project Management Guidelines. The level of work is considered intermediate and staff work under minimal direction. This position has no direct reports.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Manages all aspects of space renovation projects and processes, including programming, planning, design detailing, construction documents and construction administration
• Directs Architectural Consultant or create space plans and construction documents for projects throughout the facility 
• Coordinates engineering requirements for MEP and structural systems design; integrates consultant information with architectural documents
• Coordinates with in-house trades or General Contractor staff to successfully execute projects. Serves as liaison among client, Facilities and vendors, including; conducting status meetings, communicating regularly with key stakeholders and responding quickly to problems and resolving them appropriately
• Manages vendor and consultant relationships from inception to project close
• Provides guidance and oversight with respect to the General Contractors purchasing to ensure adherence to diversity guidelines
• Works closely with Project Accountant to tracks costs of project, reviews invoices and correspondence and approves payment; summarizes financial status of project a
• Supports Project Accountant in preparation of reports and adherence to project/bank goals
• Develop project schedules, budgets, resource allocations and project teams
• Works closely with Contract Administrator and Procurement to specify goods and services and assist in the purchase, contract, installation and follow-up services
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Construction Management or Interior Design
• Up to 5 years of related experience or 7 years of experience may serve in lieu of degree
Knowledge and Skills
• Project Management and organizational skills
• Working knowledge in Computer Aided Design(CAD), MS Project, Excel and Word
• Strong communication skills
